Title I
Title I provides financial assistance to schools with high percentages of children from low income families. Title I funds provide support staff, resources for students, teachers, and parents, as well as professional development to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards. Schools in which children from low income families make up at east 40 percent of enrollment are eligible to use Title I funds for school wide programs to serve all children in the school.
More than 50,000 public schools across the country use Title I funds to provide additional academic support and learning opportunities for students.
Over 350 schools in all 55 counties throughout West Virginia benefit from Title I funding.
There are ten elementary schools in Monongalia County. Four of these elementary schools are Title I schools.
