Monongalia County Schools' bus driver Nora Pacifico celebrates her birthday on March 27th. However, that's not entirely why bus drivers and staff are wearing red in the photo above.
Nora happens to wear red EVERY Friday in honor of deployed US troops.
This past Friday, the department surprised their friend and co-worker by wearing red in support of our troops and to celebrate the person whom one friend declared "the heart of the transportation department."
"You're definitely lucky if your path has crossed with this amazing person," said Transportation Special Needs Aide, Bo Sackett. "Nora has given 22 years of exceptional service to children and families," the last 12 have been with Monongalia County Schools.
Nora is endearingly known for wearing red from her head to the toe of her Chuck Taylors, in honor of military heroes and families. She has been doing so for over 20 years, beginning the year her own son was deployed.
"Her love for the job is contagious," said Sackett. It appears to be spreading rapidly!
