Schoolmessenger call going out at 9am on 4/16/2020:
I’m Barbara Parsons, chair of the steering committee for the Monongalia County Schools’ Comprehensive Educational Facilities Plan – the CEFP.
I’m inviting you to invest a few minutes of your time to help shape the future of public education in Mon County.
Today through Friday, April 24, you can access a brief presentation about the CEFP process through the Mon County Schools website.
You can also complete and submit a survey soliciting your opinions on how we want our schools to function in the coming decades.
The West Virginia Department of Education requires every county school district to complete a CEFP every 10 years.
It’s an intensive process – and the most effective CEFPs incorporate input from the schools’ broader-based community:
- from students and their parents;
- school employees and administrators;
- and residents representing WVU and the county’s business sector, as well.
Mon County’s completed CEFP will help our local school administrators and Board of Education as well as the State School Building Authority anticipate and meet our future educational facility needs.
Despite these currently unsettled times, we’re looking ahead.
Please take a few minutes to view the CEFP presentation and complete this survey (link is below).
Please help us plan on continuing Mon County’s tradition of providing high-quality public education to all our students.
Click Here for a short presentation and from there you can take the survey (click Next at bottom of the screen) and help us shape our students' future!
