Bridge to Math 1 & Beyond (ONLINE) - Spend this summer strengthening your mathematical skill sets in preparation for Math 1 and beyond during this eight-week, online summer course that will provide weekly instructional videos, practice activities, and live instruction and assistance with MCS certified teachers. This online format will benefit high school students working summer jobs and taking part in other Summer Avalanche sessions. Practice on your own time, in your own way!

DATES: June 14-August 8 GRADES: 9-12


Audio Recording & Technology – Students will get a crash course in the production and engineering side of music in this eight-day program that will focus on the fundamentals of mixing and mastering. Students will be challenged to complete the recording and production of a song performed by musicians, allowing them to build some practical experience as they learn!

Video Games as Literature – This eight-day summer session will focus on storytelling through video games, with an exploration of character development, literary elements and real-world themes through modern media.

College Prep – Start preparing for college admission and scholarship application processes during this four-day “boot camp” style program.

Introduction to RPG Design (ONLINE) – Students will learn some of the core elements of game design as they explore minimalist role-playing games (RPGs). Students interested in

pen-and-paper RPG's, such as Dungeons & Dragons, as well as those interested in the design of video games, will be able to build the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to enter the g rowing field of game design.

DATES: July 6-9 (Tuesday-Friday); July 12-15 (Monday-Thursday) TIMES: 1:00-4:00 PM GRADES 9-12


Solving Problems Through RPG (ONLINE) – Students can participate and learn the basics of tabletop role-playing games. Students will learn social skills, as well as be introduced to facets of creative writing, while strengthening reading skills.
