Police Academy  new Registration ClosedGet an introduction to law enforcement by participating in drug and alcohol abuse prevention activities, simulated violence prevention training, and crime scene investigating.

Serious Eats new Registration ClosedEnjoy your own culinary creations, master kitchen fundamentals and work with other young chefs during this intense crash course in cooking!  You’ll create your own pasta, homemade sauce and salads and perfect the perfect pizza dough. You won’t leave hungry and you’ll want to learn more about how to become a great chef!

College Prep – Start preparing for the college admission and scholarship application processes during this three-day “boot camp” style program.

Ceramics new Registration ClosedLearn introductory basic hand building techniques in clay/ceramics. Create clay whistles, name tags, wind chimes, sun-face wall  plaques,  gargoyles and mugs/vases. Students with proficient previous wheel-throwing experience will be allowed use of pottery wheels.

Thespians Unleashed – Find more meaning in the written word through performance arts – including improvisation – and working with a script! Grades 6-12

VEX Robotics – Brainstorm and design systems to meet the 2017-2018 VEX Robotic Game criteria; class created primarily for UHS VEX robotic team members.

Beginners Rocketry new Students interested in STEM careers will explore the world of aerospace engineering by designing and building rockets during this introduction to model rocketry fundamentals. No experience is necessary, but instruction also will help students with some rocketry background develop advanced skills. Students leave with a familiarity with common rocketry simulation software (openrocket).

LOCATION/GRADES: University High / 9-12

TIMES/DATES: 9 a.m.-12 p.m. / July 10-20 (M-TH)

Advanced Rocketry – Students familiar with rocketry design will engage in advanced design work to build competition rockets for the upcoming TARC season. This course is intended for students with experience in TARC competition and familiarity with openrocket or rocksim software. Advanced techniques will be explored, preparing students to mentor TARC teams and for level 1 certification with the National Association of Rocketry (NAR).

Wild & Wonderful Woodworking new Students will learn safe, hands-on techniques for crafting small woodworking projects in this introduction course!
