Fall 2010 Community & Adult Education Schedule The role of the Monongalia County Technical Education Center is to assist individuals to choose, prepare for, become employed and be upgraded in suitable employment. The changing economy and the explosion of technology demand that we provide both cross-training and retraining to our students so that they may effectively use this new technology. Technical training at the Monongalia County Technical Education Center is available on an open-door basis to all those who meet basic requirements. We are accessible and flexible so that the greatest number of students can benefit from our services. We strive to recognize the individual differences of our students and to foster their success. The work of the Monongalia County Technical Education Center reflects the present and the future needs of our world economy. Our programs are being constantly upgraded to meet the needs of the changing job market. The labs and classrooms duplicate as much as possible, the actual work environment in each career and technical area. The Tech Ed Day and Evening programs provide a continuum of education to our students, allowing them to acquire more advanced technical training through cooperative agreements with higher education. This concept of an educational continuum gives our students not only the technical skills for immediate employment, but also the ability to continue to learn throughout their working lives.
