Easton Elementary School students celebrated their school’s achievement of Exemplary School status 2004-2005 with a special assembly Feb. 10. The students cheered during the event as the school’s accomplishments were proclaimed.
Teachers Tracy Cottrell, Polly Johnson, Susan Wade and Amy Glessner read Dr. Seuss’s Hooray for Diffendoofer Day! to the students and guests during the celebration. Representatives of Bowles Rice and The Insurance Center, Inc., Easton’s Partners in Education, and former Easton principal LeJay Graffious were recognized during the event for their contributions to Easton’s achieving its Exemplary School designation.
All students and staff attending the celebration sported new red “Easton Exemplary School” t-shirts, purchased with the support of Outback Steakhouse, The Insurance Center, Inc. and Bowles Rice, three of the school’s Partners in Education. Cottrell’s Country Store and Flowers and Beasley Embroidery, two businesses owned by Easton parents, also helped underwrite purchase of the shirts which feature a flying eagle logo design created by Tracey Black of Morgantown Printing and Binding, another Easton Partner in Education.
Staff, students and guests enjoyed the assembly. Easton’s teachers are very proud of their students’ accomplishments and appreciative of the generosity of their Partners in Education.
